My name is Steph and my boyfriend is named Wes. Our friend started us on this habit of photographing our meals before digging in, and we realized as we looked over these pics that every meal encompassed so much more than simply filling our stomachs. Meals are so central to our daily lives; a place to connect, reminisce, and enjoy the company at hand.

Oink oink…

Boy do I feel like a pig right about now. I stuffed myself with just about everything but pig. My morning started off with fruit as usual, but there was a training session at work for some folks outside of the office, so breakfast and lunch were ordered for them. When they’re all done, what’s left is placed in the breakroom for others to share. I should learn to not go near that area on these days - they had Corner Bakery for breakfast, so there were some muffins and bagels left. Then for lunch, they had Red Brick Pizza.

And here is how my day went (pretty much downhill for my health): I had the fruit in the morning, some cinnamon muffin, a slice of bbq chicken pizza, a small piece of breadstick, vanilla and chocolate gelato, lemongrass chicken, a bottle of Coke bought from a lunch truck, finished off with a smoothie from Jamba Juice … all in that order. That is basically what I ate from about 9am until 4pm. I don’t even know what I would consider my lunch to be! It was supposed to be the chicken, but I somehow ended up eating the gelato first. =)

I was STUFFED by the time I left work. I still can’t believe that I ate all of that. My dinner was much less spectacular, especially because I wasn’t too hungry - I ate leftover lemongrass chicken, which was initially my lunch until I was tempted by everything else sitting in that darn breakroom. The gelato was completely my fault though. I somehow managed to finagle the dessert meant for the trainees from the person in charge of the catering. And man was it good! =P
