I’m stuffed
The Olive Garden was having their Never-Ending Pasta Bowl deal again, so Wes decided to go and have lunch there yesterday. That was a bad idea because 1) I never (ever) get my money’s worth and 2) we were supposed to go to a birthday dinner about 3 hours after lunch. I wasn’t sure what type of pasta “orrechiette” was, so I asked our server. She told us they look like little bowls that are flipped out on the edges and also added that they look like ears. “Ears?” I asked with a laugh, to which she said yes, but she calls them bowls because “ears” doesn’t sound very appetizing. True, but it sounds so much funnier!
We waited a while for our food so Wes started playing around with his iPhone. He was changing his background picture because it was reset to the standard picture of the Earth. So our conversation went like this:
Me: “Why are you changing your background?”
Wes: “Because I don’t like the Earth.”
Me: “You don’t like Earth?!?!?!”
Of course he changes his picture and it ends up being either a closer shot of Earth or the picture of a different galaxy, lol.
The food was alright, just a little too creamy for me and Wes’ five-cheese marinara was a little too cheesy for him. When our entrees came, I just had to say, “They DO look like ears!” I of course did not even finish my first plate, but Wes wanted to try something else, so he ordered the “ears” with the tomato basil caprese sauce, lol. As it turns out, it wasn’t really a sauce, but more like pasta tossed with diced tomatoes and basil. We finished with a caramel hazelnut macchiato, but the syrup taste was waaaaay too strong. I had to take a bite of the Andes mints with each sip of the coffee.
