My name is Steph and my boyfriend is named Wes. Our friend started us on this habit of photographing our meals before digging in, and we realized as we looked over these pics that every meal encompassed so much more than simply filling our stomachs. Meals are so central to our daily lives; a place to connect, reminisce, and enjoy the company at hand.

Pizza Time!

I am so full. Having only had grapes to eat for lunch today, I was starving when we got to CPK tonight. It killed me that, despite getting there past the dinner rush, we still had to wait 15 minutes for a table. What did we talk about to pass the time? A mutual friend of ours is getting married soon, and Steph was super excited, gushing constantly about her friend’s plans, especially since Steph is the bride’s maid. Now every time your significant other knows someone who gets married, a silent bell tolls. This would be the third person we both know in the past month or so who is engaged or about to be married. I can only change the topic so many more times before the subtle, “Didn’t we start dating before them?” start dropping. Pray for me friends.

The dinner itself was good. We decided to go simple and go with safe toppings for our pizzas. I had the mushroom, sausage and pepperoni, and it definitely hit the spot. It wasn’t overcooked, a problem a lot of pizza places have, and it had lots of sauce; just the way I like it. CPK usually cooks their pizzas evenly for the most part and tonight was no exception. I felt like a cow today, though, and downed about 3 of their peach Italian sodas. If I shake my belly right now, I can still hear the liquid moving around.

We skipped dessert, though Steph did finish her meal off with a constant barrage of laughter at my expense. I’m sure she’ll post about it later.
